WELCOME

Welcome to the Somatic Pranayama Online Training - a journey into ancient yogic practices of energetic cultivation.

 

This course is designed to help you develop a profound understanding of pranayama, kriya, and the subtle body, blending classical yogic wisdom with a somatic approach

 

Whether you're a practitioner or teacher of yoga or breathwork, you’ll gain the tools to structure accessible, embodied breath practices that cultivate lifeforce.

COURSE OUTLINE

This training provides an accessible yet deep understanding of pranayama, kriya, and the subtle body.

You will learn to...

- Understand the energetic qualities of each of the different pranayama practices & how to select appropriate practices to positively impact the energetic system.


- Structure a standalone pranayama practice incorporating somatic movement (up to 60 minutes).


- Integrate pranayama into yoga and meditation classes in an accessible and effective way.

- Teach these techniques professionally or with family & friends.

PRANA

Explore the essence of vital energy & the subtle body.

 

Understand breath as a cycle of creation, sustenance, dissolussion and renewal, guided by the tantric principle of Spanda: the rhythmic pulse of life

 

Learn how energy moves & can be manipulated directly through the breath.

Gain a deep understanding of classical Pranayama practices including:

KRIYA

Discover the purifying power of the breath through kriya practices including:

- Kapalabatti

- Bastrika

- Lions Breath

BREATH MECHANICS

Understand Breath Anatomy & the biomedical benefits of Pranayama on the nervous system & organs.


Learn how breath ratios impact the nervous system and how measuring the breath can expand Pranic capacity.

SOMATIC APPROACH

Learn how to incorporate simple movements into pranayama patterns in order to anchor deeper levels of presence in beginners and give greater access to advanced pranayama patterns.

ENERGETIC ANATOMY

Learn about Bandhas (Energetic Locks)  and how they may be applied within Pranayama practice in order to amplify & absorb energy.

 

Learn about the major Nadi's (energetic pathways); Sushumna, Ida & Pingala Nadi, understanding how pranayama practice can balance these channels and open up the potential for deep absorption experiences & the movement of Kundalini Shakti.

Discover the subtle energetic activation of Mudras including Jnana, Kali, Vishnu, Shambhavi, Khechari, Yoni, Lingham & Sanmukhi Mudras.


MEDITATION

Explore entering & navigating deep states of meditative awareness that may arise through pranayama practice.


Learn Tantric breath meditations - Surrendering Control of Shakti.

TEACHING METHODOLOGY

Discuss the art of teaching Pranayama including how to cue the breath, how to sequence a pranayama practice, and how to intelligently include pranayama when teaching a yoga class.

Who is this course for?

This course is designed for yoga & breathwork practitioners & teachers who seek a clear understanding and application of classical yogic pranayama and kriya practices, along with a modern somatic approach.

What is included?

WEEKLY PRACTICE

Every Saturday for 6 weeks, you will receive a 60 minute class (mp4 & mp3) that you need to practice every day that week, ideally in the morning.

WEEKLY LIVE CALL

Every Sunday we will have a 60 minute live Zoom call to discuss the practices & theory of each week, including Q & A. This call will be recorded and available for download if you are not able to join live.

COURSE MANUAL

You will also receive a Pranayama Manual with detailed explaination of the course content delivered in the live calls & including multiple practice sequences.

DATES

Every Sunday for 6 weeks

July 25th, Aug 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd & 29th, 2024

Live classes will be 60 mins long, held online weekly every Sunday, Bali time (GMT+8) (Wednesday in the states). 

To accommodate for students on both sides of the world, there are 2 options for call times each week, according to what works best for you in your time zone. 


The course will also be offered live to students living in Bali who would like to take the course in-person. Classes will be held on Fridays at 11am, beginning July 26th.  

Tuesday, 20:00pm Bali time WITA - Central Indonesian Time (GMT +8)

US Eastern Time (EST, UTC-5) → 7:00–8:00 AM (Morning)

Central European Time (CET, UTC+1) → 1:00–2:00 PM (Afternoon)

HAYLEE CLARE

I was introduced to mantra in 2010 through my yoga practice. I began travelling to India frequently and spent time living in ashrams where mantra & fire rituals were a primary focus along with yoga & meditation.


In 2015 I was introduced to Gurudeva Vagish Shastri in Varanasi who was a renowned saint & revered teacher at Benares University. I received Shaktipat initiation and studied Sanskrit, kundalini meditation & tantric philosophy with him 1:1 in his home during my yearly travels to India until his passing in 2020. 

In 2018, I began learning the art of Vedic puja (ritual). This deepened my understanding of both the Tantric & Vedic perspectives on mantra, mudra, deity & worship immensely.

Honouring all of my teachers, thank you so much for everything you have shared with me.
